Gina Smith - President

Born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware, Gina Smith has a passion for giving back to her community. She has served on the board of Premiere Charities, Inc., volunteers for the UnLocke the Light Foundation’s volleyball tournament, and has organized many charity events and fundraisers over the years.

Gina is the director of operations at Mint & Needle. Prior to her current position, she worked across several professional industries, including law, technology, medical, and government. She has over 20 years of experience in accounting, human resources, and operations. She holds a bachelor’s degree in management from Goldey-Beacom College.

In her free time, Gina enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Dan Falcone - Vice President

Dan Falcone is an accomplished and experienced electric utility industry professional responsible for product development at ConnectDER. Prior to joining ConnectDER, Dan held senior leadership positions at Exelon, where he oversaw engineering, operations, and analytics for the PHI brands (Atlantic City Electric, Delmarva Power, and Pepco) across New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and D.C.

Dan has over 16 years of industry experience and has worked extensively with utilities across the U.S. as chair of AEIC / EEI committees. Dan is a National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) member and technical committee member for ANSI and UL standards in the energy space.

Dan holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania with a minor in mathematics, and a master’s in energy and environmental policy from the University of Delaware.

Dan has family roots in Philadelphia and was valedictorian of his graduating class at Father Judge. Dan brings a rich history of volunteering to EBS and is excited to share his passion and operational focus with the other board members.

Liam Gilroy - Treasurer

Liam J. Gilroy is a managing partner at Fortis Wealth Management, LLC. Prior to the establishment of Fortis Wealth Management, Liam served as an Army Special Forces Officer in Army and Joint Special Operations units.

Since his separation from active duty, he has employed his financial education and experience in service of his clients. He works with individuals, couples, and families to help them develop and implement wealth management plans, as well as achieve their retirement goals and safeguard their financial wellbeing.

Liam serves in an advisory role for medical, technology, and defense startups, and is a participating member on several boards focused on veterans, health and wellness, and recovery.

Agathe Daskalides - Secretary

With a passion for social impact, Agathe Daskalides brings a wealth of experience in marketing and communications to EBS. Her professional journey includes a longstanding commitment to a healthcare nonprofit with a focus on patient safety. Now, as a trauma-informed breathwork facilitator, Agathe is fervently dedicated to fostering holistic wellbeing and empowering individuals through mindful practices.

Agathe actively contributes to her community, serving on boards such as Leadership St. Pete and the Sunscreen Film Festival, where she strategically shapes cultural landscapes and contributes to the vibrancy of her community.

Molly Nixon - Board Member

Molly Nixon grew up in Ocean City, New Jersey. She later moved to New York to complete her degree at the Fashion Institute of Technology for international trade and marketing.

Molly has over 20 years of experience in the aesthetic industry and six years in medical aesthetics. Throughout her career, she’s worked across New England and the MidAtlantic. Most recently, Molly was a strategic account manager, working throughout New York to D.C.

When Molly heard about Empowerment Beyond Scars, she knew she had to be a part of it. As a survivor herself, she wants to help those heal from past traumas — because trauma does not define you, it only makes you stronger.

In her free time, if she is not spending time with family, you can find Molly playing tennis, salsa dancing, hiking, or painting.
